Domaine Leflaive - Puligny Montrachet

The Mācon-Verzé in 2004

20.03.04

Domaine Leflaive (Puligny-Montrachet), a flagship domaine in the Cōte de Beaune, has just acquired 9 ha of vines in the Mācon-Verzé appellation. "What we want to do is offer wines that are fine and more accessible, while continuing to work with Chardonnay in a vineyard that is geographically close", explains Anne-Claude Leflaive, the domaine's manager. Paul de Noüe, a cousin of Anne-Claude Leflaive, will be in charge of the estate. As with the Cōte de Beaune vineyard (22 ha), the vines - which are some 20 years old - will be cultivated biodynamically. After the Domaine des Comtes Lafon (Meursault), this is the second star domaine in the Cōte-d'Or to invest in the Māconnais. Bourgogne Aujourd'hui- 17 February 2004- www.wines-terroirs.com
